Danger Mouse

I am not quite sure whether this qualifies as a ‘Literary Location’, but this is my site so I can do a I please! Danger Mouse was a cartoon series, following the exploits of Danger Mouse and his reluctant sidekick, Penfold, as they tried to foil the plans of Baron Silas Greenback. With David Jason voicing Danger Mouse and Terry Scott being Penfold, the series originally ran from the 28th September 1981 to the 19th March 1992 with an updated version airing in 2015.

Danger Mouse and Penfold work underneath Scotland Yard on Baker Street in London, hidden inside a red pillar box. In April 2022, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the character's first adventure, a blue plaque was added to a post box at the corner of Baker Street and Melcombe Street. Few people seem to notice this tribute to the world’s greatest secret agent, but it’s a really fun addition to the blue plaques around London (although probably not an official one!) and made me smile!
