The capital city of Wales, Cardiff is full of history. Its castle has a history spanning over 2000 years with the wealthy Bute family transforming the castle into a romantic Victorian fantasy.

Cardiff is also famous for the arcades which make up the Castle Quarter. High Street Arcade, Duke Street Arcade and Castle Arcade are all within a short walk of the Castle and have been part of the city since first opening in 1885. Full of gorgeous original features and character, they are now full of a wonderful range of independent shops and restaurants.

One of the shops in Castle Arcade is Troutmark Books. A veritable TARDIS, the shop is bursting with a fabulous range of second hand books. A wonderful display across the shops windows tempts the reader inside where they find an incredible mix of books- potentially hours of browsing and locating book-ish treasure!
