Brilliant Bookshops: The New Bookshop

In 2021, I had the great pleasure of visiting ‘The New Bookshop’ in Cockermouth. Cockermouth is a lovely little town on the edge of the Lake District, famous for being the birthplace of William Wordsworth.

Bright and airy, The New Bookshop is very appealing, with a good range of books to explore. The children’s section is located at the back of the shop and is well organised with a great selection of books. I spotted many favourites on the shelves. Ever on the look out of books of myths and legends, I treated myself to ‘Norse Myths’ by Matt Ralphs, illustrated by Katie Ponder in the same DK series as ‘Greek Myths’ by Jean Menzies also illustrated by Katie Ponder.

The shop also has a coffee shop, serving some delicious looking cake, Sadly, I didn’t have time to enjoy some cake with my new purchases- but this is a bookshop I will be visiting again so hopefully next time!
