Brilliant Bookshops: Castlegate Books

Knaresborough is a lovely little town with winding streets weaving their way through the town. There are the 'Town Windows', paintings celebrating characters and events from the town's history, displayed in the old blocked or fake windows on buildings round the town. The castle is an amazing ruin in a beautiful setting, overlooking the Rive Nidd and they have cafes which serve amazing cakes!

Just round the corner from the castle in Market Place is Castlegate Books. Although small, this shop has a wonderful range of books for all ages on a great range of subjects. Every possible space is full of books. The children's section is at the rear of the shop and there are tables loaded with goodies before you reach the shelves at the back. A great range of recent releases sit alongside firm favourites.

Well worth a visit, Castlegate Books is a pleasure to browse, offering a great range of books. We last visited in 2017- and look forward to our next trip!
